Weekend of Shows
And not the fun, ooo la la shows, I'm talking about dirty punk! I don't know why it would be classified as dirty; but let me tell you, IT AIN'T CLEAN! Ummmmm, yeah, don't know where I was going with that one.
So this past weekend was awesome. I went to the Green Day concert at SBC Park where the Giants play. They sold that thing out, definitely more people in the stands that the Giants could ever wish for this season. Plus all the people on the field. It was huge, but the show was way short. It started at 8 and was over by 11. Green Day was only on for an hour, it was a really good hour though. They played that shout song that Will Ferral makes fun of, "AND A LITTLE BIT SOFTER NOW, AND A LITTLE BIT SOFTER NOW"; that was good. Whenever I hear that song I think of Jeff's girlfriend Katie; she sang it to me when I didn't recognize it. So I started cracking up at the concert when they played that. The 30 year old chicks behind us were digging Double Down, but fuck, who doesn't. Green Day also played "We Are The Champions"; I'm still confused on that one. Then they brought random people in the crowd to play Burnout or one of the easy songs from 'Dookie'. So really the real band only played like 30 min of their original material by the original band. Whatever, it was still cool.
After that we went to the Love Parade after party. Lot's of hot chicks (all with dudes), then more dudes randomly around. Pretty big sausagefest, but good music. Justin and I did two or three absenthe shots over the day and that kept us pretty wasted with the regular intake of beers.
So it was a good weekend. Other than that, we went out friday night. It was a really wierd random night. Going to random parties. Then, no booze at the party. When asked for a drink I was handed, Johnny Walker Red Lable; in a paper cup, straight. It was rough and I "left" it somewhere.
Tonight Less Than Jake are playing in the city. I'm so fucking pumped! It's gonna be rad. I was just reading about it and their website and newsletter (yes, I am that big of a dork) say they'll be playing stuff from the new record. That gives me a "boner", but I doubt I'll see any poopers. So the show should be rad, getting obliterated at my house before hand. Rolling in wasted and drinking more at the show, such a hard life. Well it will be when I'm hung over tomorrow.
